What equipment does my child need?

Goggles

Whether they're a beginner or a squad swimmer your child will need a comfortable pair of goggles.

For younger swimmers, comfort is key so make sure they fit your child well to prevent leaks.

Trunks/Swimsuit

Any swimsuit or trunks are suitable for learning to swim as long as they fit well and your child is comfortable.

More advanced swimmers will need a one piece swimsuit (girls) and Jammers or Aquashorts (boys) rather than baggy board shorts.

Swimming Hats

Your child does not need to wear a swim hat but long hair must be tied back away from the face.

But if your child has long hair then we do recommend that they wear a hat, especially once they are ready for a squad class.

Swim hats keep their hair dry (and protect their hair from chlorine).
