Covid-19 Update - Keeping you safe

Please do take time to read through the important info below so we can keep everyone safe at the pool.  We will be running a much reduced swim programme and we ask parents to observe the following guidelines to help with social distancing on poolside.

1.  Please make sure you observe the new one way system and social distancing guidelines at UCS Active (follow the yellow arrows).

2.  Children will need to arrive for their lessons ‘beach ready’ with their swim kit under their clothes/towel poncho/dry robe.   Parents of younger children (under 6 years old) are welcome to come down onto poolside to help their child get undress/put on their goggles etc.  If your child is older than 6 years please can you drop them off promptly on the poolside and leave them to wait on their own on the far benches (next to the windows).

3. We’re pleased to announce that UCS Active changing rooms will be open for the children to change after the lessons. There is a limit of 15 people per changing room so we ask parents not to accompany children into the changing rooms unless your child really is unable to get changed unnacompanied.  Once again we’d like to remind parents that children over the age of 8 years must get changed in the appropriate changing room (boys/girls).

4.  The showers and hairdryers in the changing rooms cannot be used at present.

5. In order to reduce the number of people on poolside parents cannot wait in the gallery during the lessons.  Parents of children younger than 6 years old can sit and observe the lessons from the poolside benches.  However, we would ask all other parents/carers to wait outside the building during the lesson. (If it is raining then we can allow a limited number of parents to wait in reception on poolside.) In order to reduce the number of people in the building/on poolside please do not bring siblings to the lesson and we ask that only one parent/carer attends the lesson.

6.  UCS Active are not providing towels to members at present so don’t forget to bring your own.

7. Do not attend the lessons if you or any member of your household have experienced any of the following symptoms in the last 2 weeks:

Fever
New, persistent, dry cough
Shortness of breath
Loss of taste or smell
Diarrhoea or vomiting
Muscle aches not related to sport/training
If anyone in your household has had close contact with anyone with confirmed or suspected Covid symptoms in the last 2 weeks.

If anyone in your household displays any symptoms they may not attend lessons and must follow government guidance to self-isolate, until a negative Covid-19 test has been provided.

What our customers say about us:
"Dear Paul, I just wanted to say thank you for helping our son ... to enjoy swimming. He was nervous when he started two terms ago and wouldn't even put his head under the water. Now he jumps in the water with gusto and can swim half a length!"
